Guidance for LGBT Seniors

Growing older can be taxing for anyone, but for LGBT seniors, who often face special challenges, it can be concerning and evoke worry. They often face discrimination and a lack of understanding and compassion when seeking out senior living communities and home caregiver services.

I recommend that all LGBT seniors have a trusted financial advisor, an elder care attorney, and a care manager in place to serve as a resource and advocate throughout and to ensure that their wishes are respected and followed! Be sure to interview several care managers before making a decision as you want to ensure that you find the right fit for you, your spouse, or partner! Please check out some of the LGBT senior friendly communities.

Everyone deserves to live their life authentically! if you need assitance with advocacy, housing, or home care please feel free to reach out!

If you are a senior living community that would like to be added to my LGBT resource guide for seniors please contact me for a community evaluation and consideration.
