Updates to Virginia Medicaid Eligibility!

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) adjust the federal poverty levels annually, a change that took effect this year on January 11, 2019, and affects income guidelines for Medicaid eligibility.

Individuals who recently applied for Medicaid coverage and barely exceeded income guidelines may now be eligible.

Under the new guidelines, a childless adult seeking Medicaid coverage may be eligible if he or she has an annual income at or below $17,237. Adults in a family of three may qualify if the total household income is at or below $29,436.

You can download copies of the 2019 income guidelines for all programs on coverva.org.

Individuals and families can use their updated eligibility screening tool to help them find out if they qualify.
