Growing older can be a difficult task for most people, but for LGBT older adults, who often face special challenges, it can be concerning and evoke fear and worry. LGBT older adults often face discrimination and a lack of understanding and compassion when seeking out senior living communities and home caregiver services.

We recommend that all LGBT seniors have a trusted financial advisor, an elder care attorney, and a care manager in place to serve as an advocate throughout and to ensure that their wishes are respected and followed! Be sure to interview several care managers before making a decision as you want to find the right fit for you, your spouse, or partner! A care manager can provide guidance on LGBT senior friendly communities and home care providers. In addition, a care manager can serve as a resource, support, and advocate along the way. Care managers provide 24 hour accessibility to care 7 days a week!
